Volvo Denso VEA Gen2: Bench access and OBD after unlock
Denso VEA Gen2 with SPC5777M can now be read and written via Bench. A one-time Bench unlock subsequently enables OBD with a patch.
New support includes Denso VEA Gen2 with SPC5777M in the Volvo Drive-E range. Listed models are S60, S80, S90, V40, V60, V70, V90, XC40, XC60, XC70 and XC90 with various diesel, gasoline and hybrid engines.
Supported variants include ECM-EAA, ECM-EBA, ECM-HAA, ECM-DAA, ECM-DAB, ECM-DBA and ECM-GAA. The exact generation can be identified via OBD. VEA Gen3 is explicitly not yet supported.
For vehicles with a Secure Gateway, the manufacturer recommends Bench. According to Autotuner, reading takes up to 20 minutes and writing about five minutes; writing with an OBD patch takes up to ten minutes.
