01 / SERVICE

What we offer you.

01

What P0420 and P0430 mean

P0420 indicates detected catalyst efficiency below the threshold on bank 1, and P0430 on bank 2. The associated software solution is often searched for as KAT OFF, Cat Off or, for short, “Cutoff.”

02

Look beyond the catalyst

The assessment is based on a comparison of upstream and downstream oxygen sensors. Exhaust leaks, misfires, mixture deviations, oxygen sensors or software versions can also trigger an efficiency code.

03

KAT OFF after ECU and project assessment

On supported control units, catalyst monitoring can be adjusted for the project. We check the complete fault memory, bank identification, engine control unit and intended use before confirming.

FAULT CODES · DTC · OBD

Common fault codes and their meanings.

These codes are frequently read during inquiries about this system. A DTC identifies the detected deviation – the actual cause emerges only from the vehicle, software version, fault status and measured values.

P20EE concerns SCR/NOx catalyst efficiency in a diesel vehicle and therefore belongs in the AdBlue/SCR area. P0420 and P0430 concern catalyst efficiency on the respective bank.

02 / PROCESS

Booking your service is this easy.

  1. Send details

Tell us the vehicle, ECU designation and software version. A photo of the control unit label helps with identification.

  2. Clarify the procedure

We agree on feasibility, costs and procedure before you place the order.

  3. Arrange the work

An on-site appointment or shipping is organized to suit the control unit.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Well informed in advance.

Is “Cutoff” the same as KAT OFF?

In the context of P0420, many searches mean KAT OFF or Cat Off. Here, Cutoff is usually just an alternative spelling or speech-recognition result.

Which code belongs to which bank?

P0420 refers to bank 1, P0430 to bank 2. Inline engines usually have only bank 1.

What should I consider for a road vehicle?

The legality of the specific modification and any necessary inspections must be clarified before implementation. Changes may affect the vehicle's operating permit, warranty and insurance terms.
