BMW MDG1: Bench work without a mail-in unlock
MD1CP002, MD1CS001 and MG1CS003 with SPC5777M can be handled directly on the workbench with Autotuner.
Autotuner reports Bench Normal Read for Bosch MD1CP002, MD1CS001 and MG1CS003 with SPC5777M. Supported variants no longer require the previous mail-in unlock. Backup creation and checksum correction are included.
Coverage includes various BMW gasoline and diesel models from the 1 through 8 Series, Z4 and X series, plus Mini diesels and Alpina diesels. This is not blanket support for all newer BMW control units.
The manufacturer specifies three minutes 45 seconds for reading and 40 seconds for writing. A suitable BMW MDG1 Bench cable is offered as an accessory.
